This sculpture of Antonio Violano of the 2014 has been thought for the collective exhibition in the Academy of the Arts of the Drawing of Florencia, with the end of tributar a homage to Miguel Ángel in occasion of the 450 years of his death.
Violano Big admirador of this artist renacentista, strong in to expression and in his spiritual coherence, has procured trasmitir in the fighter the dichotomy between the fight in the “ring” and in the life. Leaving the sport in a secondary position, is important to recognise like the corporal expression of the sculpture is related with the firmness of the person. The elevation of the high part of the figure on the musculature subjected to tension, wants to mean the victory on the fear and the temerity.
The repressed energy determines the fast repercussion in the gesture, the consciousness of the meeting with the life. The posture of the feet is, therefore, a hold on to the earth, doing part of her, is like going forward with what has learnt . The figure of the fighter in his fatigado manifest in the different parts of the bust, has not been thought, by the artist, like a contribution to the cult of the body, but like the expression of the personal spirit. The compressed structure of the work is a personification of the human effort in the world.
This sculpture, sumariamente described, is the last realisation of Antonio Violano on the subject of the vigour and of the knowledge of the own strengths.
The work can see in the historical headquarters of the Academy florentina and forms part of his permanent collection
